Kevin Johnston leverages 30 plus years of Leadership, Program Management, and Contract Management experience to the Phillips Development & Realty (PDR) team. He serves as PDR’s Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for the company’s efficient day-to-day activities across accounting, finance, legal, construction, and property management. He coordinates closely with the Managing Director on business decisions, standardized processes, and integrates the PDR team towards achieving short and long term development goals.
A retired Air Force (USAF) Lieutenant Colonel, during his service, Kevin held several USAF Major Command Headquarters and Combatant Command Acquisition Critical Positions. These programs crossed both USAF and Special Operations peculiar aircraft including B-2, CV-22, MH-47E, MH-60M, AC-130H, U-28A, MQ-9, and MQ-1. He also worked on large military construction projects and was on the initial team to develop the overall framework of the Housing Privatization Programs for USAF at HQ Air Combat Command. In 2003, Johnston was selected as the outstanding USAF field grade officer of the year for his work on these major construction and housing privatization programs. He was also the Program Manager for advanced unmanned aircraft systems with the United States Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. There he managed over a billion dollars in programs in development, testing, production, and fielded operations. These systems were effectively used in support of the Global War on Terror.
Kevin has a Bachelors in Business Administration from East Carolina University and a Master of Business from Colorado State University. He is a graduate of several military officer leadership programs. Kevin also holds the highest certifications in DoD Program and Contract Management.
A native of North Carolina, Kevin enjoys spending time with family, boating, and pelagic sport fishing.
